Duties And Responsibilities: Versatile communications specialist produces a wide range of multimedia content for the HSPH website and social media sites promoting the School's scientific research and educational activities and enhancing the School's web presence. Creates podcasts, video profiles, digital photo galleries, slide shows, interactive graphics, animation and individual web pages using appropriate video, audio and graphics software. Reporting to the Assistant Director for External Communications, the multimedia communications specialist works collaboratively and creatively with Office of Communications staff to produce content for the HSPH website and social media sites from conception through writing, design, recording, posting, updating and repackaging. Works closely with web-related and media services staff in the Information Technology Department to apply School's unique content management software (CMS) system and utilize other HSPH software applications and resources. Works with faculty, departments and programs to write and develop new web content, enhance faculty research pages and repackage video of conferences and lectures as shorts for communications purposes. Works with Communications Office team to set goals and develop strategy for the website and social media, with particular emphasis on maintaining timely and relevant material and uniformity of design and content. When needed, assists in the design and production of a bi-weekly e-mail newsletter sent to 4,000 subscribers. Other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, and three or more years of directly related work experience such as video journalism. Excellent knowledge of FinalCutPro, Adobe products including Photoshop, Flash, Acrobat, Dreamweaver. Has a portfolio of multimedia projects.

Additional Qualifications: Ability to work collaboratively with administrative departments, faculty and other Communications Office staff members; excellent written communication and organizational skills; ability to work both independently and as a member of a team in a busy office; ability to prioritize tasks from multiple sources and to meet strict deadlines. Familiarity with general web technology including HTML, CSS, RSS/syndication, flash video, image formats, podcasting, streaming media and search engines; Has edited and produced video, preferably with web delivery, written material for and maintained web sites using a content management system (CMS) or blogging software. Experience in generating web traffic and audiences; knowledge of web metrics. Experience as a video journalist would be ideal.
