CNN.com/feature sections is responsible for both breaking news and enterprise stories for CNN.com. It covers the sections and topics of U.S., Crime, Tech, Showbiz, Travel and Living news. The intern will train with the sections supervisor and the six section editors, as well as the rest of the newsroom including iReport and associate producers. The intern will learn to provide support for the section editors on both breaking news and enterprise reporting. This will include exposure to a wide variety of opportunities from helping editors work on the big story of the day to tracking down photos and videos for features. This intern must have significant print experience either in the form of college newspaper experience, internships, or both. He or she must be able to generate interesting story ideas and be able to recognize news within each of the section topics. We are looking for a team player who wants to jump into the mix. Flexibility and a good sense of humor are much-appreciated traits. Please Note: Internships are UNPAID and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Program dates are 02/01/2010 – 04/23/2010. Course Credit is available. Resume and Cover Letter are required. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred) and good character. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL DURING THE TIME OF THIS INTERNSHIP). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.
