The Intelligence Project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, a leading civil rights organization, is seeking an experienced editor with excellent editing, supervisory, investigative and writing skills. This individual will edit and supervise a skilled investigative writing staff, as well as produce his or her own major articles, news items and special reports on extremism, domestic terrorism and hate groups for the Project’s quarterly Intelligence Report, website and blog. The Report has won a series of major investigative awards, including 2007’s prestigious Utne Independent Press Award for best magazine in the “In Depth/Investigative” category, and has a circulation of more than 300,000. This is a regular, full-time position that requires relocating to Montgomery, Ala.
