Newsday’s features section, ExploreLI, is looking for a full-time two-year intern interested in reporting Long Island entertainment, nightlife, events and other lifestyle features for the daily section, as well as creating multimedia for Newsday.com and ExploreLI.com. Newsday is one of the nation's largest daily newspapers, serving New York's Long Island area. This is an entry-level position with an emphasis on training and regular feedback to hone reporting, writing and multimedia skills. Recent journalism school graduates are encouraged to apply. To qualify for the two-year intern program, candidates will have completed a graduate or undergraduate degree within one year of being hired, and will have had less than one year of professional experience in the job for which they are applying. Successful candidates should: -Demonstrate their familiarity with our section’s tone and format. -Be able to develop lively story ideas. -Be able to write concisely on deadline. -Have a driver’s license and a car.
