We're looking for one great writer to join our small (5 person) and passionate team located in downtown San Francisco. In addition to writing, you'll be asked to pitch in (as we all do) by answering reader emails (support), creating outbound marketing that also builds relationships, and helping with production.
This is a full time, on-site job (San Francisco). No freelancers, part-timers or remote workers please.
Responsibilities/Role
- Writing: conducting and writing long form (3,000-6,000 word) interviews with experts (see examples: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/articles/category/interviews/) and researching and writing shorter (800 word) 'evergreen' category overviews. You'll also write occasional posts for our blog, plus some special features/reports.
- Content development: you'll help us research and build out new categories, including finding and reviewing the best related websites and resources.
- Copy editing and production: We all pitch in on copy editing, proofreading, and production (content management, linking, etc.)
- Support, outbound marketing and relationship development: We all pitch in on answering reader emails, as well as helping to promote new content we've published via emails to influencers (bloggers, collecting clubs, media, etc).

Requirements |
|
- 3-5+ years full time reporting and writing experience (w/strong references) in a traditional print (newspaper or magazine) environment. No ad copywriters, marcom, corp comm or PR folks, thanks.
- A passion for, and ability to produce, very high quality work (getting the facts right is especially important).
- The ability to work quickly and produce a high volume of clean, accurate copy.
- Strong work habits and the ability to efficiently juggle multiple tasks and projects.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- A sustained personal interest in at least some of the areas we cover (see our website).
