Job Description

The Position

We’re in the process of designing and launching GLG Media. This business unit will be responsible for providing our best experts with tools and a Web-enabled platform to share their expertise more broadly with the global business audience.  We’re looking to hire a Senior Editor for GLG Media who will be responsible for identifying experts in our network who have interesting, timely and esoteric business expertise. In turn, our editor will work with those experts to curate and produce streaming and written “expert content” for distribution on the Web.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and engaging experts in our network who possess granular but topical business expertise
  • Working with those experts to conceive and edit creative, news-relevant, and audience-engaging online content packages incorporating text, video, and community features.
  •  

    Writing and editing stories, articles, captions, and tagging video
  • Driving audience growth and engagement

  • Overseeing the editorial calendar and day-to-day workflow, including assigning writing and editing duties to freelance writers

  • Working cross-functionally to plan and execute all published content and implement SEO best practices
  • Using content management system to upload new articles/ links/ files/ images and edit existing content

Requirements
 

Candidate Profile:

Candidates must have a proven record of accomplishment in conceiving and editing online media properties that have achieved significant audience growth.

  • 5+ years of hands-on editorial experience, including at least 2 years of online experience.

  • Vision for driving audience growth and engagement online.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Knowledge of online CMS publishing systems preferred; ability to learn and use new technologies essential
  • High level of intelligence, initiative, energy and resourcefulness
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment
  • Highest levels of integrity and professionalism
