The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin is a daily newspaper with approximately 80 employees and a circulation of 12,000 published Monday through Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. An award-winning newspap...er, it is recognized by the American Society of Newspaper Editors as one of the best small daily newspapers in the United States. With an impressive reach of 84% of adults in Walla Walla in print and digital each week, the Union-Bulletin is dedicated to serving the community through quality journalism, professionalism and integrity.
We are looking for a proven leader who can lead an established group of managers to maintain the WWUB’s high level of journalism and strong editorial voice. This person needs to be dynamic and hands-on; an excellent communicator and collaborator with a strong knowledge and aptitude to learn all phases of newspaper publishing in print and online. Working in concert with key managers, the ideal candidate will have the vision and follow through to develop and implement long and short range goals objectives and strategies that enable the company to achieve and maintain its position as the dominant information provider in its market area.
But beyond the technical skills of media management, we also want someone to become the face of the UB in Walla Walla. A person with ties to the community would be ideal. But we would certainly consider other qualified candidates who have a strong desire to become part of life in this vibrant and beautiful community.
